The only problem I have with it, is that I have to turn it on manually on the computer running Windows 7. Not sure what causes this, but it seems to work fine once it is turned on.

I'm on record as promoting free security products as sufficient for home use, but I was awarded a free lifetime license to this paid firewall years ago.
I can't say it protected me any better since then compared to the free firewalls out there, or even the native firewalls from MS I'm currently using on some of my systems. But it came with bells and whistles that promised extra protection. Most importantly, it never gave me any grief. Now that it is disappearing, exchanging its lifetime license for 2 years of Kaspersky Internet Security KIS seems to me a poor trade.
I'm also on record as recommending against purchasing security suites in particular, as they seldom shine with better protection in all areas AV, firewall, anti-malware. I've always "rolled my own" protection, picking the products that most suited my particular circumstances. That said, Kaspersky protection has always scored at or near the top of independent AV tests for years.
Since it won't cost me anything until 2 years hence, I will make the exchange and try the KIS suite on one of my systems. I doubt it will change my biases.
